On 1st August the The Prince’s Countryside Fund released this excellent publication. It outlines lots of ways to help villages survive in the fast changing world in which we live.
The book concentrates on making the community the heart of the village and what the community can do to strenghten bonds within the village and develop facilities to support residents of all ages.
Topics covered include some of the things we have already such as a village library and a hospital transport scheme but also other things we don’t have yet. The guide gives helpful advice on developing or improving facilities, I was unaware for instance that an accord was signed in 2018 to encourage the CofE to use churches to boost broadband, mobile and Wi fi connections in communities.
